Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Racial Justice Training and Resources Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our commitment to racial justice and promote equality and inclusion within our Diocese.

About the Role: As a Racial Justice Training and Resources Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of our Diocesan Strategy (Anti Racism Charter) by establishing a racial justice training pathway and creating resources that can be accessed and utilized across the Diocese.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and Implement Racial Justice Training: Evaluate our current Unconscious Bias training program and implement lessons learned to enhance our racial justice training offerings.
  • Deliver Racial Justice Training: Deliver racial justice training to parishes and Diocesan staff, particularly Unconscious Bias training, to promote awareness and understanding of racial justice issues.
  • Develop Training Pathway: Develop a comprehensive training pathway that includes the development of racial justice resources, training for parish leaders and Diocesan staff, and evaluation of training effectiveness.
  • Identify Training Needs: Identify training and resource needs for various stakeholders, including Diocesan staff, parishes, and schools, to ensure that our racial justice training offerings meet their needs.
  • Research and Develop New Models: Research and identify new models to incorporate into our training pathway, including theology, power, privilege, and prejudice, to enhance our racial justice training offerings.
  • Liaise with Other Dioceses and the National Church: Liaise with other Dioceses and the National Church to learn from and seek best practice for racial justice training content and delivery.
  • Establish Coordinated Training Program: Work with other members of the department to establish a coordinated training program that offers both face-to-face training and eLearning.
  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Develop and maintain an evaluation process for training, including the development of impact indicators, to ensure that our racial justice training offerings are effective.
  • Advocate for Racial Justice: Be an advocate for racial justice within Diocesan structures, identifying and promoting best practice regarding racial justice, diversity, and inclusion.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of racial justice issues, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
