Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team within the Integrated Community Stroke Team. The successful candidate will provide outstanding, personalized, and compassionate care to stroke survivors, working across both acute and community settings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based rehabilitation to stroke survivors, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide clinical supervision to junior staff members, ensuring best practice and supporting the ongoing development of the service.
  • Work on a rotational basis between acute and community settings, requiring access to a car.
  • Support the assessment and treatment of stroke survivors, assist with discharge planning, and communicate with families and carers.
  • Attend daily and weekly multidisciplinary team meetings, providing goal-led rehabilitation and delegating work tasks as required.

Person Specification
  • Occupational Therapy Degree/Diploma
  • HCPC registered OT
  • Member of British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT)
  • Practice Placement Educator/Mentor Training
  • Relevant post-graduation experience
  • Experience of supervisor role with band 5/4/3 staff
  • Audit/Research experience
  • Transferable skills from working as an entry-level practitioner
  • Awareness of legislation and relevant guidelines
  • Ability to manage own caseload
  • Evidence of CPD/Training
