About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. As a Rotational Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work across two clinical areas, gaining valuable experience and developing your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine occupational therapy interventions to maintain, restore, or create a match between the abilities of individuals, the demands of their occupations, and the demands of their environment.
  • Work alongside more senior experienced therapists to consolidate and develop your skills, and contribute to the occupational therapy plans for people with complex needs.
  • Provide fieldwork placements for occupational therapy undergraduates and supervise support staff, delegating occupational therapy tasks as necessary.
Person Specification
  • Diploma/BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Ongoing registration with the Health Professionals Council
  • Some knowledge of current best practice in OT
  • Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice
  • Basic knowledge of the principles of clinical governance, health, safety, and risk awareness
  • Application of the OT process, broad range of undergraduate practice placement experience, use of functional assessment, and analysis of occupation
  • Positive learning from experience gained in mental health settings, pre or post qualification
  • Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and groups, effective written and oral communication skills, computer literacy, good personal organization skills, and ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
