Role Overview

The Trainee Train Driver position is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about delivering exceptional customer service.

As a Train Driver, you will play a vital role in establishing a modern standard for rail travel, emphasizing a seamless, swift, and enjoyable experience for passengers. Your responsibilities will include safely transporting customers to their destinations, providing outstanding service, adhering to established protocols, and collaborating with team members to ensure operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old to qualify for the training program, as mandated by industry standards.
  • Proximity to the depot is essential; candidates should reside within a 60-minute travel radius without relying on public transport, due to safety obligations. This requirement is non-negotiable.
  • Flexibility to work shifts with varying start times, including weekends and nights, is necessary.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive driver medical examination, which includes hearing, vision, and color perception tests (using Ishihara plates), is required. Please refer to the FAQ section for detailed medical standards.

Given the critical nature of this safety role, our recruitment process is thorough, incorporating various assessments to evaluate essential competencies. Rest assured, we will provide Practice Test Materials prior to any assessment events, allowing ample time for preparation.

The training salary is set at £28,268 annually, increasing to £60,124 upon qualification.
