About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Train Manager to join our team at Great Western Railway. As a Train Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our trains, while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the safety and operational activities of the train, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from Revenue Protection, On-Board Services, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage the sale of tickets and provide information to customers as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and pleasant environment on board the train.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Proven experience in a customer-facing role, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and shifts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of railway operations and safety procedures, with a willingness to learn and develop skills.
