Substance Misuse Support Specialist

Role Overview:
- Assisting individuals from their initial engagement with the service throughout their recovery and treatment process.
- Conducting evaluations, assessments, and developing recovery strategies while facilitating referrals to additional services.
- Aiming to minimize the impact of substance misuse on both individuals and the broader community.
- Encouraging involvement from caregivers, service users, and the community at large.
- Advocating for access to collaborative services.
- Collaborating with individuals to foster social reintegration, empowering them to lead fulfilling and purposeful lives by promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-empowerment.
Candidate Profile:
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of substance misuse challenges and have relevant experience in a similar role.
- Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with proficient IT capabilities.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently, with exceptional time management and prioritization abilities.
- Have a solid understanding of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
- Be a collaborative team member with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working alongside a diverse range of professionals, organizations, and stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively manage transitions while prioritizing the needs of service users.
- Recognize the significance of information governance and commit to adhering to all necessary safeguards.
- Actively seek opportunities for professional development to enhance your knowledge and skills, while also contributing to the growth and learning of others.
