Job Summary:

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is seeking two experienced Duty Managers to support the delivery of a world-class visitor experience across our Shakespeare Family Homes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day visitor operations, including the training and supervision of staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day visitor operations, ensuring a high-quality experience for visitors
  • Train and supervise staff and volunteers to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Adhere to fire, security, Health & Safety, cash handling, and data protection protocols
  • Understand and implement emergency plans, ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and assets
  • Manage site and grounds security, including unlocking and securing the premises
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
  • Deliver admissions and secondary spend targets, driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction
  • Supervise a customer-facing team, prioritizing tasks and making confident operational decisions under pressure
  • Manage cash handling, building management, and security procedures

Requirements:

  • Experience in supervising a customer-facing team and delivering against KPIs
  • Sound understanding of customer service principles and operational management
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and making confident decisions
  • Experience with cash handling, building management, and security procedures

Working Arrangements:

The post holder will work 1,820 hours per year, including seven days a week, including Bank Holidays, on a rota basis with other Duty Managers. There will also be a requirement to manage and attend some out-of-hours events.
