Clinical Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Scientist to join our Genomics Laboratory team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic services and contributing to the development of our laboratory's capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the delivery of diagnostic services in our Genomics Laboratory, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of diagnostic laboratory genetics and genomics, with the ability to critically analyze and interpret scientific data.
- Compile comprehensive genomic reports and contribute to the development of new testing protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to maintain a high-quality patient-centered service, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance procedures, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
- Significant laboratory experience, preferably as a technologist or pre-registration scientist in a Genomics Laboratory.
- Sound knowledge of human genetics and genomics, with the ability to critically analyze and interpret scientific data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to a range of staff groups.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a flexible and co-operative approach to work and learning.
- Self-motivation and good time management, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
