We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Scientist to join our Nuclear Medicine Physics team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting and developing our Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET services, as well as our expanding Radionuclide Therapy service.
Key Responsibilities- Support and develop Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET services, including the development of imaging protocols and the evaluation of novel radiopharmaceuticals.
- Contribute to the group's growing involvement in clinical research, including the design and implementation of research studies.
- Provide complex scientific advice and support to clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and improve clinical outcomes.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures for SPECT, PET, radionuclide calibrators, intraoperative probes, and gamma counters.
- State Registered Clinical Scientist and certified Medical Physics Expert for Nuclear Medicine physics services.
- HCPC registration and RPA2000 certification in Nuclear Medicine.
- Experience of working with ionising radiation and knowledge of IRMER2017 and IRR2017 regulations.
- Proven track record of working in multidisciplinary teams and experience of teaching and training at BSc or MSc level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals.
