About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Scientist to join our Nuclear Medicine team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a Medical Physics Expert, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of our Diagnostic Imaging and Radionuclide Therapy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and develop our Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET services, including the development of imaging protocols and the evaluation of new technologies.
  • Contribute to the growth of our Radionuclide Therapy service, including the development of dosimetry and treatment plans.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe and effective use of ionising radiation in nuclear medicine.
  • Provide complex scientific advice and support to clinicians and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures for SPECT, PET, radionuclide calibrators, intraoperative probes, and gamma counters.
Requirements
  • HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist with a strong background in Medical Physics.
  • RPA2000 Certified Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Experience in diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET applications, including the development of imaging protocols.
  • Experience in Radionuclide Therapy and Dosimetry.
  • Practical experience in Radiation Protection related to NM and PET.
  • Experience in QA for SPECT, PET, radionuclide calibrators, intraoperative probes, and gamma counters.
