ROLE PURPOSE

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned IT professional to join our team as an IT Solutions Consultant. You will be tasked with the installation and implementation of IT solutions sold by our sales teams, while also serving as a key escalation point for the IT support team in addressing faults and modifications to existing customer IT solutions. Building and maintaining robust relationships with our suppliers and IT clients is essential, as is understanding their needs and translating them into effective technical solutions. By staying informed about current market trends, you will collaborate closely with our Technical Team to ensure the successful deployment and ongoing maintenance of IT solutions.

We seek a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, dedicated to achieving customer satisfaction. This role demands a proactive approach to challenges, the ability to propose innovative solutions, and effective communication with clients.

You will be responsible for producing the scope of work necessary to provision and install the sold solutions, coordinating with the technical support desk for a seamless transition and ongoing assistance. This will require strong coordination skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent communication skills to ensure smooth delivery and exceptional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the 'IT Champion' for Welcomm, serving as the primary contact for all IT engineering inquiries and support escalations.
  • Oversee the installation and implementation of IT solutions sold by the sales team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on IT projects, including other IT Consultants, Account Managers, Business Development Managers, and our IT Technical Support Team.
  • Participate in customer meetings to gather technical requirements for solution implementation.
  • Create technical documentation and project plans for the IT sector, including writing and sharing technical blogs for social media.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the Technical Support Team for complex technical inquiries and issues.
  • Develop detailed scopes of work for provisioning and installing technical solutions.
  • Coordinate with the technical support desk for a smooth handover and ongoing support.

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated experience in a technical consulting role within IT, showcasing the ability to assess customer needs and customize IT solutions accordingly.
  • A minimum of 3+ years in an IT Support role and 2+ years in an IT Engineer position.
  • Proficient in IT Infrastructure (Servers, Endpoints, Networking), Cloud Technologies (Microsoft Azure), and Networking Concepts (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Access Points).
  • Solid understanding of Windows Operating Systems (both Windows Desktop and Windows Server).
  • Experience with Virtualization Technologies (such as Hyper-V and VMware).
  • Strong technical skills to install and configure IT solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to act as an escalation point for technical support.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Willingness to work from the head office on occasion as well as at Welcomm.
