About the Role:
The Mechanical Piping Work Pack Engineer plays a vital role within the construction team, focusing on the mechanical and piping engineering components of construction work packages. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, piping design, and effective project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work Pack Development:
    Collaborate with project managers and design engineers to create comprehensive construction work packages for mechanical and piping systems, ensuring all necessary drawings, specifications, and permits are included.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Deliver technical guidance in mechanical and piping engineering, ensuring all construction work package documents comply with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications. Address and resolve engineering challenges that arise during construction.
  • Project Coordination:
    Engage closely with construction planners to organize and prioritize mechanical and piping documentation activities. Ensure seamless integration of mechanical and piping systems with other engineering disciplines.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Implement quality assurance measures to uphold the highest standards in mechanical and piping construction documentation, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain precise and current documentation of mechanical and piping construction activities. Generate project status reports, highlighting any issues or deviations from the planned schedule.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in mechanical or piping engineering or equivalent experience in drafting construction work packages.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and standards.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical and piping engineering, particularly in construction projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Manage and MS Office software.

Additional Skills:

  • Awareness of UK nuclear site license conditions.
  • Experience working on construction sites.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and solve problems effectively.
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements.
