Job Overview

The Assurance, Compliance & Change Lead plays a pivotal role within the Infrastructure Strategy & Governance (ISG) division of the DHI Directorate, overseeing two critical areas of Governance: Assurance and Compliance.

This position entails line management responsibilities for both the BC Assurance & Compliance Manager and the Infrastructure Change Manager.

This role supports hybrid working arrangements, requiring attendance at the workplace for 2-3 days a week, as agreed with your Line Manager.

The position is structured for a 37-hour work week.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will ensure that Infrastructure Business Cases are formulated by Joint Project Teams in accordance with JSP655 (Defence Investment Approvals). This role demands extensive engagement with a diverse array of Key Stakeholders to verify that NBC Clyde’s Business Cases are precise, compliant, comprehensive (including all necessary evidence), and sanctioned by senior NBC Clyde Key Stakeholders prior to external submission.

Additionally, the role involves reviewing, auditing, and managing Infrastructure processes within the DHI department to maintain ongoing compliance, which includes overseeing Formal Change Processes, Safe to Operate protocols, BMS requirements, and managing the non-compliance (CPAR) process. The position also includes facilitating the Clyde Site Infrastructure Management Meeting (SIMM) and coordinating the DHI team’s contributions to Clyde Business Agreements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the capability to cultivate and sustain a broad network of stakeholders, where collaboration is essential for success in a regulated operational environment. The successful applicant must demonstrate management skills to ensure that all pertinent information is collected and communicated effectively within the relevant processes.

Where operational needs permit, some roles may allow for a mix of office and home-based work. This arrangement is non-contractual, and all office-based employees are expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working hours in the office, subject to capacity and necessary workplace adjustments.

Please note that this position does not offer relocation expenses.

New external recruits to the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will undergo a six-month probation period.
