Position Overview

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team at His Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde), the premier operational base for Royal Navy submarines. This role is pivotal in supporting the UK's Nuclear Deterrent and maritime operations, ensuring a collaborative and rewarding work environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the Delivery Sponsor team within the Deputy Head Infrastructure Directorate. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and nurturing a high-performing team focused on achieving ambitious goals through effective collaboration.
  • Acting as the Project Sponsor, defining user requirements, and overseeing the delivery of a substantial 10-year capital investment programme, valued at approximately £100 million.
  • Functioning as the Intelligent Customer for maintenance and lifecycle replacement programmes, delivered in partnership with industry.
  • Coordinating across various organizations to ensure integrated and optimal project delivery.
  • Ensuring adherence to nuclear site authorisation conditions.

Candidate Profile

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • Proven experience in building and leading teams to deliver successful outcomes through collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing infrastructure projects within an operational context.
  • Completion of the Nuclear Introductory Course, or a willingness to undertake this training within one year.
