Job Title: Non-Destructive Testing Team Leader

Compensation: £45,000- £52,000 annually based on experience

Location: Norwich

Aeropeople Ltd is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing Team Leader to enhance our operations in Norwich.

With over four decades of industry presence, we are a prominent Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) equipped with six comprehensive maintenance bays across three hangars, proficient in various aircraft models including Embraer 170/190, Boeing 737: All series, BAe 146, and Avro RJ. Our expertise lies in delivering base maintenance MRO services alongside CNC Milling, structural and composite repairs, trim/paint, and component repairs from our state-of-the-art workshop. Additionally, we operate a Part 147 Technical Training College that offers a variety of training solutions.

The NDT Team Leader will oversee a dedicated team of two NDT Inspectors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to both internal and external stakeholders. If you possess Non-Destructive Testing certifications and are ready to advance your career, this opportunity may be ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the performance of NDT Inspectors and trainees.
  • Conduct pre-planning, documentation processing, tool ordering, and certification of NDT tasks.
  • Monitor quality, costs, and overall performance of NDT operations, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to company protocols and report any discrepancies through the established reporting system.
  • Guarantee that all NDT activities are performed safely and comply with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Effectively address audit findings in a timely manner.
  • Maintain current approvals for NDT personnel by tracking qualification expiry dates, recency records, eye tests, and ongoing training.
  • Ensure all NDT tools and equipment are calibrated and properly maintained.
  • Collaborate with the NDT Level 3 responsible individual.

Candidate Profile:

  • Completion of a recognized aeronautical apprenticeship (civil or military).
  • Proven experience in an aircraft maintenance or related field.
  • Knowledge and expertise in Eddy current, Ultrasonic, Dye Penetrant Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, and UT Phased Array techniques.
  • Possession of multiple Non-Destructive Testing certifications.
  • Familiarity with NDT techniques for Boeing 737, BAe 146, and Embraer aircraft.
  • Understanding of EASA/CAA regulations, Health Safety & Environmental legislation, and Employment Law is advantageous.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a relevant setting.
  • Approachable demeanor and ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Continuous evaluation and prioritization of personal and team performance for improvement.
