Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced NDT Supervisor to lead a team of NDT Inspectors in a dynamic Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of NDT services to internal and external customers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Performance Management: Lead a team of NDT Inspectors and trainees, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance.
  • Pre-Planning and Research: Conduct thorough research and planning to ensure the successful completion of NDT tasks, including spares and tool ordering.
  • Quality and Performance Monitoring: Monitor the quality, cost, and overall performance of NDT tasks, taking corrective action as necessary to address any non-performance.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all NDT-related tasks are carried out safely and in accordance with company Health and Safety standards.
  • Audit and Compliance: Ensure timely and effective closure of audit findings and maintain compliance with company procedures.
  • Staff Development: Monitor and maintain the current approval of NDT staff, ensuring they maintain up-to-date qualifications, recency records, eye tests, and recurrent training.
  • Tooling and Equipment: Ensure that all NDT-related tooling and equipment are in calibration and maintained correctly.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with the NDT Level 3 responsible person and other stakeholders as required.
Requirements
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in an aircraft maintenance or similar environment, with a recognized aeronautical apprenticeship (Civil or military).
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and experience of Eddy current, Ultrasonic, Dye Penetrant Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, and UT Phased Array. Multiple Non-Destructive Testing approvals and familiarity with Boeing 737, BAe 146, and Embraer aircraft NDT techniques.
  • Leadership and Communication: Previous supervisory/leadership experience in a relevant environment, with strong commercial and financial awareness, and the ability to maintain key areas of focus in a busy and complex environment.
  • Personal Qualities: Approachable, calm under pressure, and able to continually review, prioritize, and seek to improve own and team's performance.
