Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head Groundsperson to join our grounds maintenance team at Get Staffed Online Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional grounds maintenance services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with sports teams to ensure surfaces and pitches are prepared and inspected for fixtures and games.
  • Supervise a team of grounds staff to maintain sports pitches and grounds to the highest standards.
  • Monitor and improve grounds maintenance services to meet the needs of our clients.
  • Ensure safe working practices and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Deputise for the Head Groundsperson in their absence.

Requirements:

  • NVQ 2 or equivalent in sports turf or a related field.
  • Full and clean driving licence.
  • Experience in using grounds maintenance machinery and equipment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Management-level experience and proven leadership skills.
  • At least 3 years of practical multisport grounds management experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as spraying and chainsaw certificates.
  • Health and safety qualification.
  • IT skills.
