Job Title: Senior In-House Counsel

Location: Remote

Salary: £90K - £110K + bonus


eNL Legal Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior In-House Counsel to join our client, a leader in the field of modern energy solutions that focus on sustainability and climate neutrality. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of PQE in the commercial or energy sector and excellent knowledge of construction contract forms, including FIDIC, NEC, JCT, and bespoke forms of contract.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts: EPC and O&M contracts, option and lease agreements, supply agreements, sub-contractor agreements, purchase agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Advising on project development and realization: major equipment purchase contracts, construction contracts, operation and maintenance agreements, real estate matters, interconnection arrangements, power purchase and energy hedging arrangements.
  • Assisting on project acquisition and divestiture: working with borrowers, lenders, and tax equity investors in structuring and negotiating non-recourse development, construction, and long-term debt and other financing arrangements for solar projects.
  • Navigating project issues: assisting in navigating the numerous issues that arise in connection with acquisition and divestiture of solar projects.


Requirements:

  • Academic excellence: a track record of academic excellence and at least five years' PQE gained in the commercial or energy sector.
  • Construction contract expertise: excellent knowledge of construction contract forms, including FIDIC, NEC, JCT, and bespoke forms of contract.
  • Project development and financing: familiar with all aspects of project development and financing, preferably gained in the field of alternative energy and distributed power sources, such as solar, energy storage, wind, geothermal, biofuels, and hydroelectricity.
