Job Description

About the Role

Keltbray Infrastructure Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Principal Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Wentworth House Rail Design Team, you will be responsible for leading and managing technical activities within a specific engineering discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technical activities, including design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure engineering integration and compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical procedures and guidelines to ensure adherence to company standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to design engineers and technicians.
  • Manage and coordinate feasibility studies, outline and detailed design proposals, and technical documentation.
  • Approve and review design calculations, drawings, and other technical deliverables.
  • Interface with construction and commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Assist in maintaining design procedures and ensuring they meet company quality and environmental procedures.
  • Undertake consultancy projects and provide technical expertise as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a lead design engineer or similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in rail or civil engineering.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to direct technical resources and labor as required.
  • Ability to monitor compliance of delivery and plan resources to meet program dates and budget.
  • Experience in managing design and CAD engineers and teams.
  • Ability to read contract requirements and implement technical requirements.
  • Proven ability to prepare engineering documentation and experience in using Microstation and Projectwise (desirable).
