Job Title: Principal Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Design Engineer to join our team at Keltbray. As a Principal Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design process for our electrification projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design process for electrification projects, ensuring that designs are completed to the highest standard and meet the required quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement design procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction and commissioning teams, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Manage and mentor a team of design engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and suppliers, to ensure that design requirements are met and that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to the development of business strategies and plans, providing input on design and engineering matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve design processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in design engineering, with a strong background in electrification design.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of OLE design range and Network Rail's requirements regarding the Risk Assessment process.
