London, Greater London, United Kingdom Foot Locker Full time
Overview

At the heart of our vision lies the customer, and with the recent implementation of our strategic "Lace up plan," the Associate Assortment Planner UK (AAP) is essential in fostering a deeper, more meaningful connection with our clientele.

The primary goal of the AAP is to create, execute, and continuously manage a profitable and effective clustered assortment aimed at enhancing our relationship with consumers. The AAP is tasked with developing store assortments 6-12 months in advance and recommending SKU counts by brand/franchise based on productivity metrics, aligning the buyer's merchandise vision with the financial strategies provided by the Financial Planner. The AAP plays a pivotal role in enhancing the customer experience in-store and boosting NPS, while optimizing sales, margins, and inventory turnover.

During the season, the AAP must respond to market trends and sales performance by adjusting distribution strategies to seize emerging opportunities and manage SKU counts effectively.

The AAP cultivates strong collaborative relationships with buyers, allocators, marketing/VM teams, customer experience, and vendors to reinforce business objectives and support company strategies. Historical and anticipated vendor and product performances will guide the AAP in formulating the product assortment strategy for upcoming seasons.

Success in this role requires commercial insight, exceptional analytical and communication skills, and the ability to forge strong partnerships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop pre-season assortment strategies to align with the merchandise plan.
  • Assist the Assortment Planner UK with:

    • Capacity oversight for DC Assortment Planning in Apparel and Accessories UK.

  • Support the buying team with product line planning and forecasting in accordance with the space assortment plan and OTB provided by the Financial Planner.
  • Manage both responsive and seasonal business through line cards.
  • Ensure monthly SKU count flow aligns with space capacity (intake management).
  • Review product distribution strategies before intake, adapting to market shifts and new opportunities, incorporating insights from the Associate Assortment Planner GEO (in-season trade).
  • Enhance best practices across the merchandising team by closely collaborating with all Assortment Planners, your director, and seeking input from relevant subject matter experts.
  • Support a test-and-learn environment by making initiatives manageable and recognizing scalability quickly.
Qualifications

  • Ability to identify and understand diverse business needs and propose strategic solutions.
  • Awareness of and ability to introduce innovative practices to the business.

  • Ability to perform under pressure and take initiative.
  • Sound business/commercial acumen with a strong focus on effectiveness and entrepreneurial spirit.
