The Edinburgh Larder is a renowned eatery that has established itself as a premier destination for local produce enthusiasts. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual who is passionate about working with local ingredients and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Our breakfast service is the busiest time of day, and we require someone who can efficiently manage high volumes of quality brunch dishes.

We pride ourselves on preparing everything on site, and a strong repertoire of soups, salads, cakes, and seasonal specials is essential for this role. Additionally, knowledge of pickling and preserving would be beneficial in preserving seasonal ingredients throughout the year.

This is a full-time position, and the salary is negotiable based on experience. We offer a daytime service only, with occasional evening shifts for special events. We are seeking someone who is willing to work collaboratively with the team to maintain and enhance our reputation as a top eatery in Edinburgh.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • An enthusiasm for and good knowledge of Scottish produce
  • A creative style of cooking
  • Strong cost management skills
  • Excellent people management skills and an interest in developing staff
  • An ability to develop good relationships with the local community and our suppliers
  • Good stock management / Health & Safety management
  • Fluency in English
