Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Sous Chef to lead our fine dining team at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will be responsible for managing a team of 12 and ensuring the smooth operation of our award-winning One Square Restaurant and bar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the main kitchen team in preparing for service times
  • Control the other chefs working on the team
  • Assess quality control and adhere to service standards
  • Support the junior members of the team
  • Manage the kitchen team through department rota's, training, and communication meetings

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years' experience within a 1 or 2 rosette kitchen environment
  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Strong desire to improve on your skills and knowledge
  • Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation
  • Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production, and presentation standards
