Restaurant Sous Chef Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Sous Chef to lead our fine dining team at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 12 and ensuring the kitchen is fully prepared for service times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the main kitchen team in the preparation of contemporary flavours with traditional and modern techniques.
  • Control the other chefs working on the team and ensure quality control and adherence to service standards.
  • Support the junior members of the team and provide training and guidance as needed.
  • Assess quality control and adhere to service standards.
  • Manage the kitchen team through department rota's, training and communication meetings.

Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years' experience within a 1 or 2 rosette kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Strong desire to improve on your skills and knowledge.
  • Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage and sanitation.
  • Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.
