Job Summary

South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Outcome Secretary to join our team in the Division of Community. As a key member of our secretarial support team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver the full Clinic on the Day process for the Division of Community, ensuring seamless communication and coordination with patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Take responsibility for typing and distributing clinic letters to patients, uploading them into Medisec, and sending copies to GPs as needed.
  • Negotiate appointments with patients in clinic, book appointments, and communicate with patients regarding radiology and diagnostic investigation dates and times.
  • Validate patients' pathways in real-time, completing all tasks and booking out and outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with the Personal Medical Secretary and Scheduling Manager to ensure smooth patient pathways and appointments.

Person Specification

  • Advanced keyboard skills and ability to meet travel requirements of the role.
  • Experience working in a busy office environment, communicating with people at all levels, and using IT systems and software packages.
  • Desirable qualifications and skills include previous NHS experience, medical administration experience, and knowledge of Meditech/Emis systems.
