About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse RNLD to join our team at the Additional Support Unit (ASU) in Exeter and later at the Regional Learning Disability and Autism Unit in Dawlish. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and treatment to adults with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate individual care plans.
  • Provide named practitioner role to individuals who use our service.
  • Promote and improve the quality of service provided.
  • Manage the unit in the absence of the Ward Manager/Team Leader.
  • Participate in the internal rotation system, including weekend working.

Requirements
  • Level 1 Registered Nurse RNLD/RNMH qualification.
  • Degree/HE Diploma level.
  • Working knowledge of using common computer programs, such as email, internet, and word-processing.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
  • Completion of Practice Assessor/Supervisor Training.
  • Evidence of post-registration training.
  • Other recognized managerial qualification.
Experience
  • Shift management over a span of duty.
  • Assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Nursing care of informal and detained patients.
  • Assessing and care planning for individuals who have a learning disability/autistic people who have additional complex communication, health, psycho-social care needs, and behavioral distress.
  • Managing incidents - maintaining health, safety, and wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Receiving and delivering managerial and clinical supervision.
