Band 2/3 Healthcare Assistant Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Healthcare Assistant to become part of our welcoming and supportive multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will collaborate with our qualified nursing and therapy professionals to provide essential care and support to our patients, ensuring they receive safe and high-quality nursing services in our Neurological Rehabilitation unit.

We invite candidates to apply for a Band 2 Care Support Worker position. We offer assistance and guidance in completing a care certificate, and upon successful completion, there will be an opportunity to advance to a Band 3 Care Support Worker role by fulfilling the necessary competencies associated with the position.

For those interested in a Band 3 Care Support Worker role, evidence of a care certificate will be required during the interview process. Successful candidates will receive support to complete the relevant competencies associated with this role.

We cannot offer this job to candidates on Student Visas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, toileting, dressing, meal support, and aiding patients with their daily activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and accessible patient environment, ensuring that necessary items are within easy reach.
  • Adhere to safe care standards as per Trust guidelines and policies, maintaining focus throughout the day despite occasional interruptions.
  • Provide care in compliance with infection prevention and health and safety protocols.
  • Contribute to patient record updates by documenting basic information such as fluid intake and output, nutrition, height, weight, and age.
  • Develop skills to promote self-care and independence among patients.
  • Ensure that equipment and supplies are well-maintained, taking appropriate action if any equipment is found to be faulty.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team.

To progress to a Band 3 role:

  • Conduct patient observations, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature, respiration, blood glucose monitoring, and GCS.
  • Collect and analyze urine samples.
  • Perform wound assessments and simple dressing changes.
  • Manage the removal of peripheral cannula and conduct urinalysis.

Job Responsibilities
