Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Child and Family Support Specialist who aligns with our mission to deliver exceptional care and service to our community.

The successful candidate will be a vital member of our team, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing their knowledge and skills in supporting children, adolescents, and their families dealing with ADHD, under the guidance of a multidisciplinary community team. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip the candidate to effectively assist the team. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple sites.

Additionally, you will benefit from a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of your base salary, with a minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum of £2,011.

Key Responsibilities

As a Child and Family Support Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the multidisciplinary team in outpatient settings.
  • Supporting the team with non-clinical responsibilities.
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns and participating in regular safeguarding supervision.
  • Collaborating effectively with the team in a professional manner.
  • Aiding ADHD specialists with QB Testing.
  • Documenting incidents such as complaints and emergencies.
  • Contributing to data collection for approved audits and research initiatives.
  • Managing telephone inquiries and directing calls appropriately.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent.
  • Ability to progress and complete QCF Level 3.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with children or in a healthcare environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working with children with disabilities.

Skills

Essential

  • Strong communication skills across diverse settings.
  • Ability to adhere to guidelines and care plans independently.
  • Capability to prioritize care effectively.
  • Understanding of quality improvement in clinical settings.
  • Flexibility and teamwork orientation.
