Job Title: Specialist One to One Study Skills Tutor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist One to One Study Skills Tutor to join our team at Randstad Student & Worker Support. As a Specialist One to One Study Skills Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) to achieve their academic goals.

About the Role:

This is a hybrid role that requires you to work with students in person and online, providing flexible support to meet their needs. You will work closely with students to create individual learning plans, develop their independence, and build on their strengths and learning strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Provide academic guidance and support to students with SpLDs
  • Help students develop independence, organisation, and time management skills
  • Support students in creating action plans to stay on track with their studies
  • Assist students in developing research skills, including finding and using credible sources
  • Help students improve their comprehension skills in reading and writing
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must hold membership with one of the following professional bodies:

  • British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
  • Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
  • Dyslexia Guild
  • The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience working with clients with SpLDs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify ways to help students build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload of students
