Job Title: Specialist Study Skills Tutor

Beacon Support Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Study Skills Tutor to join our team. As a Specialist Study Skills Tutor, you will work with Higher Education students who require one-to-one support with their studies.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Specialist Study Skills Tutor to provide individualized support to students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). The successful candidate will work closely with students to develop learning strategies that will improve their study skills and enable them to become independent learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with students to develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to address their specific learning needs
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with ASC, focusing on study skills and strategies
  • Act as a facilitator to help students develop their learning strengths and overcome barriers to learning
  • Collaborate with the support manager to ensure students receive comprehensive support
  • Participate in regular training events and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Teaching qualification
  • Relevant experience working with students with ASC in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and related study skills strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
