We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Study Skills Specialist to join our team at Randstad Student & Worker Support. As a Study Skills Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) to achieve their academic goals.
About the Role:This is a specialist role that requires a deep understanding of SpLDs and the ability to provide tailored support to students. You will work closely with students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and develop personalized learning plans to help them build independence, confidence, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one support to students with SpLDs, focusing on developing their study skills, organization, and time management.
- Collaborate with students to create individualized learning plans that cater to their unique needs and goals.
- Support students in developing research skills, including finding and evaluating sources, and using references correctly.
- Help students build comprehension skills in reading and writing, and develop strategies to improve their academic performance.
- Work closely with students to identify and address any concerns or challenges they may be facing.
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold membership with one of the following professional bodies:
- British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
- Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
- Dyslexia Guild
- The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
- Experience working with clients with SpLDs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to identify ways to help students build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship

- Ability to manage a caseload of students
