Job Overview

The Chief Nursing Officer will collaborate closely with the Group Chief Executive and Group Chair to lead the nursing and midwifery teams, ensuring the provision of exceptional patient care and superior outcomes through the implementation of the highest professional standards within the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

As a key authority in the field, the post holder will cultivate an environment within the nursing community that prioritizes ongoing professional development and empowers staff to excel in patient care delivery, embracing innovation and the Trust's core values.

Acting as the principal advisor to the Group Board and executive leadership team, the Chief Nursing Officer will provide expert guidance on all professional nursing matters.

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Nursing Officer will oversee the following areas:

Professional Leadership Quality Assurance & Safety Operational Effectiveness Education, Training & Research Initiatives Risk Management Strategies

The role encompasses the following functions:

Leadership in nursing practices and care standards Quality Impact Assessments Clinical Auditing Governance processes related to patient safety Management of complaints Patient Advice and Liaison Services Engagement with patients and the public Enhancing patient experience Volunteer coordination Chaplaincy and bereavement support services Management of relationships with regulatory bodies.

Fostering collaborative leadership across the organization. Offering professional guidance to nursing and professional staff, promoting a culture of continuous development and excellence in patient care. Actively participating in the evolution of the healthcare system. Leading initiatives to ensure outstanding patient care and a culture of quality and safety. Collaborating with medical leadership to enhance clinical governance. Partnering with educational bodies to explore new roles and development pathways. Advising Sub Board committees on nursing matters, utilizing performance indicators to assure standards of practice.

Master’s Degree Relevant nursing/midwifery qualifications Evidence of management and leadership training Commitment to ongoing professional development
