Job Overview

The Chief Nursing Officer will collaborate closely with the Group Chief Executive and Group Chair to provide strategic leadership for Nurses and Midwives, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and superior outcomes by adhering to the highest professional standards of the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

As a recognized authority in the field, the incumbent will cultivate a culture within the nursing community that prioritizes ongoing professional development and empowers staff to excel in patient care delivery through innovative practices and alignment with the Trust's core values.

The Chief Nursing Officer serves as the primary advisor to the Group Board and executive leadership team on all professional nursing matters.

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Nursing Officer will oversee the following areas:

Professional Leadership Quality Assurance & Safety Operational Effectiveness Education, Training & Research Initiatives Risk Management Strategies

The Chief Nursing Officer is accountable for:

Nursing leadership and care standards development Quality Impact Assessments Clinical Audits Governance processes related to harm reviews Management of complaints Patient Advice and Liaison Services (PALS) Engagement with patients and the public Enhancing patient experience Volunteer programs Chaplaincy and bereavement support services Management of relationships with regulatory bodies.

Job Duties

The primary duties associated with this role include:

Fostering collaborative leadership. Offering professional guidance to nursing and professional staff, promoting a culture of continuous development and excellence in patient care. Actively participating in the advancement of the healthcare system. Leading efforts to ensure outstanding patient care and cultivating a culture of quality and safety, with a commitment to eliminating poor quality. Collaborating with medical leadership to integrate effective clinical governance throughout the organization. Partnering with educational entities to explore new roles and establish clear pathways for professional development. Providing professional insights to Sub Board committees on nursing matters, ensuring accountability through performance indicators.

Qualifications

Required

Master's Degree Relevant nursing/midwifery qualifications Evidence of recent management and leadership training Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional and personal growth

Proven track record in quality and patient safety initiatives and enhancing patient experience Experience in leading service or transformational changes Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders Experience managing substantial budgets Engagement with patients and the public to improve patient pathways.
