Position Overview
Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce an opportunity for a Trainee Administrative Support Officer to join our administrative team. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, enabling them to become proficient in various administrative functions within the NHS. This position offers a unique chance to engage with multiple teams and enhance your professional capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide essential office and administrative support services.
- Perform general office tasks, including answering phone calls, taking messages, filing documents, photocopying, and managing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Interact with staff and visitors daily, offering assistance and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Support the administrative team in organizing and managing meetings, which includes venue booking and preparation of necessary documentation.
- Under guidance, produce accurate correspondence, reports, and maintain relevant databases as required.
- Assist in developing and maintaining effective administrative systems, both manual and electronic, ensuring regular reviews for efficiency.
- Help with the procurement of supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to cover duties during staff absences, ensuring continuity of service.
- Safeguard and manage confidential information and inquiries appropriately.
- Participate in annual appraisals to identify personal development needs and enhance skills.
- Complete mandatory training as required for the role.

Training and Development
The selected candidate will engage in a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, which includes a structured training program over 18 months. A minimum of 20% of the training will be conducted off-site to ensure comprehensive learning.
Important Note
This position does not meet the salary criteria for a Skilled Worker visa. Candidates without prior NHS experience will typically start at the entry-level salary in accordance with the Agenda for Change pay scale.
