About Hestia
Hestia is a dedicated charity committed to empowering individuals and building a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive society. We offer a range of vital services, including support for those experiencing domestic abuse, modern slavery, mental health challenges, and complex needs. Our mission is to help people rebuild their lives and achieve independence.
Our Mental Health Service
We provide a safe haven in South London for adults facing or at risk of mental health crises. Operating evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, our service focuses on reducing immediate crises and equipping individuals with coping skills, resilience, and a sense of empowerment. We collaborate closely with statutory services like SW London and St George's Mental Health Trust to ensure seamless access to daytime support and treatment.
Your Role as a Specialist Recovery Worker
As a Specialist Recovery Worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in guiding individuals towards recovery and well-being. Your responsibilities will involve:
- Motivating service users to identify triggers for crises and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborating with individuals to create personalized safety plans that proactively manage their mental health and minimize reliance on crisis services like A&E.
- Conducting one-on-one sessions to support service users in developing their own wellness and recovery action plans.
- Assisting service users in building social networks and engaging in mainstream or specialized activities that promote positive mental health.
- Working closely with statutory services to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
At Hestia, we value the unique perspectives and experiences that individuals from diverse backgrounds bring. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered to contribute their best.
