About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Specialist Support Worker to join our team at Look Ahead Care Support and Housing. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to young people aged 18-25 who are experiencing mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build trusting relationships with young people and create a positive atmosphere
  • Conduct holistic assessments and develop support plans to meet individual needs
  • Provide support and guidance to young people to access relevant services and empower them to self-manage their medication
  • Work in partnership with external stakeholders to complement their interventions
  • Develop productive relationships with partner organisations to improve service outcomes
Requirements
  • Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Specialist knowledge relevant to supporting young people with mental health diagnoses
  • Experience of working in a complex mental health environment
  • Demonstrable experience of trauma-informed practice
