We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Perinatal Mental Health Service as a Perinatal Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments and interventions to women who are pregnant or up to 2 years postnatal, who have, or are at risk of, a range of complex mental health problems.
About the RoleThe Perinatal Mental Health Service is a specialist service that provides support and treatment to women who are experiencing mental health difficulties during pregnancy or in the postnatal period. The service is based at Thumbswood Mother and Baby Unit and provides a range of interventions, including individual and group therapy, to support women and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions to women who are pregnant or up to 2 years postnatal, who have, or are at risk of, a range of complex mental health problems.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive service to women and their families.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each woman.
- Provide supervision and training to junior psychology colleagues and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to the development of the service and the implementation of new initiatives.
- Post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, or fully completed training as a Counselling Psychologist.
- Strong experience working as a qualified practitioner with clients with severe mental illness within a mental health setting.
- Experience of working with women who are pregnant or up to 2 years postnatal, who have, or are at risk of, a range of complex mental health problems.
- Training in risk assessment and management.
