Therapy Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Therapies Team Lead to join our CYP Eating Disorders Team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating the development and delivery of therapy services within our Intensive Day Service.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate the therapy timetable for our Intensive Day Service, including line management supervision.
- Represent psychological/systemic therapists within the CYP-ED MDT and wider HPFT services.
- Support the CYP-ED Intensive Day Service MDT as a senior member, providing specialist assessment and treatment of children and adolescents and their families.
- Ensure the systematic provision of a highly specialist clinical psychology/family and systemic psychotherapy service for children, young people, and their families in relation to eating disorders and co-morbid diagnoses.
- Offer highly specialized advice and consultation with regard to psychological care of young people and their families/carers to non-psychologist/systemic MDT colleagues, professionals from other agencies, and to other non-professional carers.
- Be responsible for the continued development of Specialist Psychology/Family and Systemic Psychotherapy resources within the CYP-ED Intensive Day Service.
- Provide clinical and professional supervision to less experienced Practitioner Psychologists/Family & Systemic Psychotherapists, Assistant Psychologists, and Trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/Trainee Family & Systemic Psychotherapists.
- Utilize research skills for audit, policy, and service development and research.
- Propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the team/service.
We are looking for an individual with a professional qualification and registration, extensive knowledge and experience of providing evidence-based treatment for eating disorders in a CYP MDT environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Assessed experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of children/adolescents with a wide range of presentations of varying severity, including eating disorders.
- Experience of working with moderate to severe mental health problems with a wide range of client groups across the whole life course.
- Demonstrate further specialist clinical experience and training within Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for client's psychological care and treatment.
- Experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and inter-agency collaboration.
- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment intervention and management with clients with eating disorders.
- Ability to demonstrate an area of special interest/skill and experience in an evidence-based therapeutic intervention.
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS and HCPC.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively and well, orally and in writing.
- Able to work at a high level of professional autonomy and responsibility, in a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment.
- Able to plan own workload and co-ordinate with other relevant staff in the delivery of clinical service.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice in relation to children/adolescents & eating disorders.
- Experience of working within a multi-cultural framework.
- Well-developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in eating disorders.
- Good presentation and teaching skills.
- Familiarity with computing technology.
- Experience and knowledge of CYP-IAPT.
