Job Summary

NJ Screen Prints is a leading volume screen printer of garments to retail and trade, seeking an experienced team leader to oversee print production and lead small teams to achieve excellence in efficiency, quality, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Motivate, support, guide, and develop individuals on performance and behaviors.
  • Conduct health and safety checks and ensure compliance with all health and safety, environmental, and security requirements.
  • Ensure the correct storage and use of hazardous goods and report defects using the maintenance portal.
  • Monitor waste and recycling and ensure good housekeeping practices.
  • Prepare work for production, ensuring garments, screens, and inks are ready for setup.
  • Ensure screens are topped up with ink during production and maintain a continuous flow of garments.
  • Work to resolve issues within one hour and escalate to the Department Team Leader as needed.
  • Collaborate with shift managers to resolve critical risk issues and ensure teams understand and deliver objectives set.
  • Set and lead by example on exacting standards of behavior and performance within the department.
  • Brief crews at the start of shift on work and required targets and work with the training coordinator on on-the-job training for new starters and other team members.
  • Monitor crews/individual performance during shift and act/escalate accordingly.
  • Unlock and lock up the factory when covering for shift manager and complete shift plan in the absence of shift manager.
Requirements
  • At least two years' experience as a skilled screen printer or team leadership experience in a print environment.
  • Ability to offer solutions for day-to-day issues and personal integrity.

  • Ability to be inclusive of all colleagues, build relationships, communicate well, and influence people.
Working Conditions

This is a shift position, rotating weekly between 5:30am and 2:00pm and 1:45pm to 10:15pm, with occasional overtime available, including weekends.

Pay is based on experience, with a minimum of £27,040 per annum.
