NJ Screen Prints is a leading volume screen printer of garments to retail and trade, utilizing cutting-edge printing technology and maintaining excellent relationships with high street retailers and major supermarket brands.
We are seeking two experienced production team leaders who have worked in screen and digital printing, preferably on textiles, and are looking to take on a leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in team management, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead small teams to achieve excellence in efficiency, quality, and service to customers.
- Ensure job preparation, setup, and quality control processes are in place.
- Motivate, support, and develop team members on performance and behavior.
- Monitor and maintain good housekeeping practices, including waste and recycling management.
- Ensure machines are running continuously with a steady flow of garments.
- Collaborate with shift managers to resolve critical risk issues and maintain objectives.
- Set and lead by example on exacting standards of behavior and performance within the department.
- Brief crews at the start of each shift on work and target requirements.
- Work with the training coordinator to provide on-the-job training for new starters and other team members.
- Collect and input hourly run rate figures into the shift output spreadsheet.
- Be flexible and assist in other areas as needed.
- Monitor team performance during shifts and take action or escalate as necessary.
- Unlock and lock up the factory when covering for the shift manager.
- Complete shift plans in the absence of the shift manager.
This is a shift position, working Monday to Friday, with a rotating weekly schedule between 5:15 pm. Occasional overtime may be available, including weekends.
