Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Manager

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team at Peel Recruitment and Solutions Ltd.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the organisation's environmental impact is minimised and sustainable practices are implemented across the force.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify and address areas for sustainability improvement.
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, and reports about sustainability for review by the board and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement organisational policies and practices to promote sustainability.
  • Research environmental sustainability issues and concerns, evaluating alternatives and determining proposed actions.
  • Develop methodologies to assess the viability or success of sustainability initiatives.
  • Implement a programme to ensure compliance with environmental or governmental regulations.
  • Develop sustainability reports, presentations, and employee guidance to implement change and compliance.
  • Conduct sustainability or environment-related risk assessments.
  • Write project proposals, grant applications, or other documents to pursue funding and grants for environmental initiatives.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field, and experience in ES/HSE risk management and assurance, as well as environmental management.

Substantial experience in sustainability-related roles, including formulating and developing new and bespoke ES strategies, policies, and procedures at organisational level, is also required.

The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to deliver shared business objectives.

They will also be able to analyse and interpret complex data to identify key trends and themes, and prepare and present management information at strategic level.
