Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Specialist

Job Summary:

Harrison Scott Associates is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our client's site, you will be responsible for driving the company's environmental and safety initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement environmental management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain ISO systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to develop and implement global health, safety, environment, quality systems, and security initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for waste management and energy use, ensuring alignment with climate change agreements.
  • Review and update health and safety policies as needed, ensuring they remain relevant and effective.
  • Provide regular reporting on HSE performance to the Plant Manager.
  • Offer guidance and support on health and safety matters, ensuring a culture of safety and sustainability.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

  • Proven knowledge of UK legislative requirements for health and safety and environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to design and deliver engaging training sessions.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in chemical management.
