Job Overview

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee business events and conventions within the city. This role is pivotal in positioning Edinburgh as a top-tier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE), ultimately driving economic growth and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:


Lead Generation: Conduct thorough research and networking to identify and cultivate new business event opportunities and MICE inquiries.


Proposal Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to create detailed presentations, proposals, and city bids that showcase Edinburgh's strengths.


Marketing Strategy: Design and implement B2B marketing initiatives and content strategies for the city's business events and convention platforms.


Client Relations: Manage daily inquiries, organize city site visits, and nurture ongoing relationships with clients.


Bid Management: Prepare Requests For Proposals (RFPs) and associated documentation, ensuring support from city partners.


Event Representation: Attend key business events, conferences, and exhibitions to represent Edinburgh as a premier destination for business gatherings.


Partnership Development: Build and maintain proactive relationships with local venues and service providers, and represent the city at national and international trade events.


Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor economic impacts, generate activity reports, and compile statistics on international association events.


Ambassador Program Leadership: Spearhead the Ambassador program in collaboration with partner organizations.
