Position Overview
The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a proactive Business Events and Conventions Specialist to enhance our efforts in positioning Edinburgh as a top-tier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE). This role is crucial in assisting senior team members and attracting new business events, thereby boosting the city's economic and social landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reporting and Documentation: Conduct daily and weekly activity reports, prepare and distribute meeting minutes, and manage event invitations and RSVPs.
• Client Interaction: Serve as the primary contact for inquiries regarding city promotion, oversee the group inbox, and coordinate timely responses.
• Event Coordination: Organize city tours and familiarization trips for prospective clients, including arranging travel and accommodations while utilizing member discounts.
• Proposal Management: Manage inquiries from associations, corporations, and incentive groups, preparing Requests For Proposals (RFPs) and developing comprehensive bid documents.
• Promotion and Coordination: Assist in the promotion and organization of Ambassador events, maintain updated knowledge of member venues and services, and manage the CRM system.
• Content Management: Contribute to social media content and engage with relevant materials to enhance the promotion of Edinburgh.
• Statistics and Reporting: Compile annual statistics on International Association events and submit them for ranking purposes.
• Event Participation: Attend pertinent business events, conferences, and exhibitions, as well as member showcases and venue openings.
• Administrative Support: Execute various administrative tasks to ensure smooth service operations.
