Job Overview
The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the role of City Business Events and Conventions Lead. This position is pivotal in promoting Edinburgh as a top-tier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).
Salary: £41,000 - £50,000
Hours: 36 per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation: Cultivate and identify new business events and MICE inquiries through strategic research, networking, and sales initiatives.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to create comprehensive presentations, proposals, and city bids.
- Marketing Strategy: Design and implement B2B marketing and content strategies for the city's business events and convention digital platforms.
- Client Relations: Manage daily inquiries, coordinate city site visits, and nurture client relationships.
- Bid Management: Develop Requests For Proposals (RFPs) and bid documentation, securing necessary funding and support from city partners.
- Event Representation: Attend relevant business events, conferences, and exhibitions, showcasing Edinburgh as a premier Business Events destination.
- Partnership Development: Foster and maintain proactive relationships with city venues and service partners, representing Edinburgh at national and international trade shows.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor economic impact, generate activity reports, and compile statistics on International Association events.
- Ambassador Program Leadership: Spearhead the Ambassador program in collaboration with partner organizations.
