Infrastructure Technical Support Specialist – Data Management & Backup Solutions

This role offers a fixed-term salaried contract with flexible working arrangements.

Location: Duxford, Cambridgeshire. On-site presence required.

Hybrid Work Model: Four days in the office and one day remote.

Key Skills for the Infrastructure Technical Support Specialist:

We are looking for candidates with robust technical support expertise, particularly in hardware and software for high-performance workstations and Windows Server environments. We invite applications from technical support specialists, IT support engineers, network administrators, and other professionals with experience in IT infrastructure and data management.

To thrive in this role, candidates should ideally possess several of the following qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting and managing high-end PC workstations and Windows Servers.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with NAS, SAN, Fibre Channel connections, and LAN/WAN.
  • A comprehensive understanding of various image, sound, and video file formats.
  • Proficiency in providing on-site first and second-line technical support.
  • Ability to manage large data flows between workstations, NAS, and long-term storage solutions.
  • Experience in supporting and managing Veeam data backup systems.
  • Familiarity with best practices in backup procedures, including the use of backup technologies and software such as Backup Exec.

About the Infrastructure Technical Support Specialist Position:

As a vital member of the IT and AV Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) and its associated IT infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing first and second-line technical support on-site.
  • Managing the transfer of large data volumes from workstations to long-term storage.
  • Overseeing and supporting the Veeam data backup infrastructure.
  • Assisting with the infrastructure components of the DAMS.
  • Ensuring prompt resolution of incidents through the IT Service Desk.
  • Offering technical support for network operating systems and IP protocols.
  • Conducting IT security updates and patch management.
  • Contributing to the development of business continuity strategies.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: £40-44,000
Location: Duxford, Cambridgeshire
Work arrangement: Hybrid. Four days in the office and one day working from home.
