Position: Lead Clinical Fellow in Emergency Care - 12 month fixed term contract or permanent position

Compensation: £55,329 per annum + additional pay for hours exceeding 40 + weekend and night shifts. This results in an actual salary range of £71,000-£76,000 per annum

Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Full GMC registration
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Emergency Department at CT3 level or above
  • MRCEM qualification completed
  • Current ALS certification
  • Successful completion of an enhanced background check

In this role, you will be stationed in an Accident and Emergency department, engaging in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Lead Clinical Fellow in Emergency Care, you will manage patients presenting with traumatic injuries, acute medical conditions, or critical situations that require immediate assessment and intervention.

Working in an A&E department is always engaging, and the position is ideal for individuals who excel at multitasking. You will be responsible for addressing a variety of medical issues across multiple patients simultaneously, necessitating effective prioritization of each case under your care.

Main Responsibilities

As a Lead Clinical Fellow in Emergency Care at this trust, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough examinations and assessments of patients upon arrival in A&E
  • Confidently and accurately diagnosing a wide array of symptoms
  • Prescribing suitable treatment plans for various urgent medical conditions
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, including medical, administrative, and support staff
  • Providing both medical and emotional support to patients and their companions
  • Administering a broad range of emergency procedures, including pain management, resuscitation, defibrillation, tracheostomy, blood tests, and overdose treatments
  • Coordinating referrals to other departments or specialists as necessary
  • Making decisions that enhance patient survival rates and facilitate recovery
  • Taking ownership of your cases while knowing when to seek additional opinions
  • Reporting at-risk patients to the appropriate authorities
  • Promoting best practices in health and well-being
  • Representing your hospital professionally
