About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Advisor to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Last Mile team, you will be responsible for optimizing the technical attributes of our expanding vehicle fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Fleet Optimization: Own the optimization of technical attributes of our vehicle fleet and innovate on behalf of our customers.
  2. Project Management: Take accountability and drive planning, resolution, and execution in complex technical projects.
  3. Problem-Solving: Work independently to identify improvement potential and manage projects from idea to implementation.
  4. Stakeholder Management: Comfortably challenge internal stakeholders on existing practices and external partners in their limitations and capabilities.
  5. Goal-Oriented: Strong ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals.
  6. Analytical Orientation: Strong analytical orientation; comfort using databases and analytical tools and making data-based decisions.
  7. Project Management Capabilities: Ability to assess risks, make decisions, manage execution, and report accordingly.
About the Team

The team is small, agile, and technically astute. We make decisions on behalf of a 30K strong fleet, and position ourselves as the technical voice of Amazon. As we push towards a standardized methodology, we search out gaps in our processes to ensure we are ever-improving and seek excellence.

Requirements
  1. A degree in Engineering or a similar relevant field.
  2. Extensive experience in technical program management, technical development, or related technical roles in the commercial mobility (vans, trucks, buses) or the automotive industry.
  3. Experience working in x-functional teams.
  4. Experience with business reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. MBA or M.Sc. in Engineering or a similar relevant field.
  2. Strong customer focus.
  3. Experience in managing complex technical programs with multiple internal and external actors.
  4. Experience in aggregating information and communicating effectively to internal and external stakeholders, incl. Amazon senior management.
  5. A record of accomplishment in delivering results in a scrappy, fast-paced environment.
  6. A history of teamwork and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
