Role Overview:

Capacity and Availability Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure that IT assets and services are consistently accessible and dependable for users and the business. Plan, monitor, and restore the availability of IT resources. Manage user expectations and define/manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Ensure that IT resources (including infrastructure, data, and applications) are adequate to meet current and future business needs. Collaborate closely with Business Partners and Enterprise Architecture teams to anticipate significant future demand on IT.

Relationship Management:

Build, develop, and maintain sustainable and respectful relationships with stakeholders, cross-IT teams, and external partners.

Governance:

Participate as a member or invitee in key teams and boards, including the IAG Cargo Infrastructure team within Service Operations and Infrastructure and the IAG Cargo CDIO Team.

What You Will Do:

Lead and manage the approach to demand and capacity planning within IAG Cargo IT. Develop and implement processes that ensure control while enabling efficient delivery of IT assets and services. Review and consolidate demand forecasts to provide insights into risks and mitigation strategies for successful delivery. Design and execute timely, effective, and insightful reporting that adds value. Proactively gather and shape requirements from multiple senior stakeholders, delivering user-friendly, value-added reports. Conduct ad-hoc data requests for senior stakeholders as needed. Maintain a strong awareness of IT best practices and trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and business transformation.

Travel Requirements:

This role may necessitate travel and working from various locations. You should be willing and able to travel for meetings, workshops, and related activities.

What You Bring to British Airways:

A profound understanding of IT service and asset availability and capacity planning. Strong communication and presentation abilities. Capacity to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with excellent time management and prioritization skills. A collaborative approach that fosters recognition as a valued partner among colleagues, customers, and senior stakeholders. Experience in engaging and managing third-party suppliers. Strong influencing capabilities. Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Your Experience:

Experience in a global organization with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders effectively. A successful track record of working in a multi-vendor environment across regions. Demonstrated ability to define Service Level Agreements aligned with business requirements. Proven experience in producing accurate and insightful reporting and metrics regarding current availability and capacity, as well as future projections. Experience in designing and implementing SLAs, Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Proficient in analyzing data to facilitate data-driven discussions. Experience operating across diverse countries and cultures is desirable but not essential.
