About the Role
The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Matron Leader to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical, managerial, and professional leadership to nursing staff at all levels within your area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership to nursing staff, ensuring that patient care is delivered to a high standard.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and experience.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Nurse and Deputy Lead Nurse to ensure effective governance arrangements are in place.
- Lead on service and professional developments, working closely with the Lead Nurse and Deputy Lead Nurse to ensure all developments contribute to the Trust's 5-Year Strategy.
Person Specification
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- First degree or relevant experience.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD at a relevant level.
- Management Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Leadership qualification or equivalent level of experience.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Master's Degree or working towards.
- Extensive post-registration experience, including proven track record of senior operational/service management experience in the NHS.
- Experience of managing staff and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Positive experience of change management within an acute in-patient/out-patient setting.
Key Skills and Qualities
- Good understanding and knowledge of NHS Performance Targets and CQC fundamentals of care.
- Developed decision-making skills, both clinically and operationally based.
- Positive problem-solving approach.
- Aware of broader issues in relation to areas of responsibility, both nationally and corporately.
- Able to lead through empowerment, build relationships, and motivate others.
